It’s Back!! Frugal Fashion Friday- 8/21/15

Okay so with back to school I will try to get back into the swing of things! So here goes another round of Frugal Fashion Friday!!

My daughter started working at a local bank, so she needed some dressier clothing. She went and bought a pair of dress pants (for like $30) but still needed more.

Leave it to cheap-o mom to the rescue!! We took a hundred bucks and came home with tons of great “new” clothing! She loves thrift shopping as much as her momma!!

Here we have this adorable outfit- total cost? A whopping $5.50!

She found this top at Goodwill for $3.50, what a deal! But wait- those super awesome pants were a find at Salvation Army and they were half price to boot (normally $4, sale $2).

I will share more of our shopping trips in the weeks to come! We are just a frugal, thrift loving family!!

I hope all are having a marvelous week, I know I am! My baby boy turns 17 today, wow! I am truly a very blessed lady and I give all the glory to God! He blesses me much more than I ever deserve and I thank Him daily for it.

Have a wonderful weekend- God Bless!!

DIY Boot Socks- Save Yourself Some Serious Money!! (No Sewing Involved!!!)

Okay so we’ve all seen the insanely cute boot socks everywhere this season, but they a bit pricey for my wallet. What’s a girl to do? Make some! But I’m not crafty, you say? Never fear, if you can use a pair of scissors you got this! (No judgement on my cutting ability!)

So let’s start with an old sweater you never wear (or find one at a yard sale/thrift store/etc). The one I used is one my daughter had in the give away pile- so I used that! It would be great to have a more neutral color, such as brown/gray/tan, but this will add a pop of color to an outfit without much color.

I just chopped off a sleeve, to a length of about 10-12″ (this was for my daughter- I would say get a sweater your size or maybe a size larger, depending upon the thickness of your calves- mine are thick!)

So, you see I literally chopped this sleeve off- I promise my cutting skills are not always this sloppy!

I then laid my first sleeve on top of the other side (the most accurate way to get the same length- right?) I chopped the second one off and viola!

These were then simply slipped over a pair of jeans and smoothed down, boots put on over and there you have it!

I am going to be on the scout for some super cute sweaters for me and Layna!!

Go forth and make the world a better place- one positive thought/smile/compliment/ at a time! God is great! Have a Blessed rest of the week!!

Frugal Fashion of the Week

So, I know, it’s not Friday- I am just no good with deadlines! Sorry- but none the less- here we are!

So my frugal fashion for the week is:

This super cute top was a Goodwill find, paired with jeans that my daughter found for $7.00 at a yard sale for me. I have a tank top underneath that was also a thrift store find (a Lands’ End NWT- Yeah!)  The boots however were a WalMart find last year and I have worn them nearly to death, they were $24.97 I believe. So total is higher this week because I am including my shoes (which I normally do not). Total is $38.97 for this outfit.

Here was another find from this week:

These cute boots were new with the tags at a yard sale for $3.00- yeah me!! I think they’ll look great for this winter!

On another frugal note- I just sent off my final payment on my furniture I bought in February, I had it financed with 12 months no interest, so haven’t had to pay any interest at all!  I love to take advantage of these offers when I know I can fully pay off before any interest will be charged. We had to break down and buy a mower in June, which we got at Home Depot, they also had a 12 months no interest, so now I got to tackle that one before June! (which I will)

Hope all have a Blessed day!! Rejoice in what the Lord has blessed you with, for it is only through Him that we enjoy such a great life!!
